Cryogenic Liquid Oxygen Plant

A LOX plant takes the air from the atmosphere though an inlet in air separation unit (ASU). The feed air is compressed in the air compressor following which it passes through a purification unit where impurities like hydrocarbons, moisture and carbon dioxide are removed. Then, the processed air is passed through a series of heat exchangers to obtain sub-zero temperature. The liquefied air is moved into a high pressure distillation column for separation of air into oxygen and nitrogen. The chosen gas, oxygen in our case, is put into a low pressure distillation for getting oxygen with purity up to 99.7%.
